Decision makers across all sectors (business, government, non-profit) face increasing pressures to find a balance between multiple “bottom lines” – financial, environmental, and social. In this environment, developing truly sustainable solutions – at the level of an individual business unit, or an entire enterprise – is not exclusively or even primarily a technical issue. Instead, it requires leadership – the ability to organize people and mobilize resources to overcome internal and external barriers to success.
To address these needs Big Picture, Long Term is working with the Huxley College of the Environment and the WWU College of Business and Economics to develop executive education programs for senior managers from the public, private and nonprofit sectors. Our programs are designed to help leaders gain insights into how their agencies and organizations can better fulfill their missions through Triple Bottom Line management—that is, by paying equal attention to long term environmental, social and fiscal sustainability.
